Request a Marble Swatch Before You Buy

Natural stone is not a manufactured product — no two blocks of marble, travertine, or onyx come out of the quarry the same way. The photo on our product page shows one slab. Your table, sink, or vanity may come from a different section of that same block, with slightly different veining, tone, or translucency.

That's not a flaw. It's the reason people choose natural stone over engineered quartz or porcelain in the first place. But it does mean a swatch is worth requesting if color accuracy matters for your project.

When a swatch matters most

  • White Onyx and light-transmitting stones — translucency varies significantly between blocks. A swatch held up to light shows you what a product photo can't.
  • Calacatta Viola and other high-contrast veined marbles — the ratio of white background to purple/grey veining shifts from slab to slab.
  • Matching existing surfaces — if you're pairing a new marble sink or table with an existing countertop, floor, or vanity, a physical swatch next to your material is the only reliable way to confirm the match.
  • Travertine tone variation — travertine ranges from pale beige to warmer honey tones depending on the quarry lot. If you have a specific palette in mind, check the swatch first.

How swatch requests work

  1. Message us with the product name (or link) you're considering.
  2. We select a swatch from current stock — the same lot we're currently cutting from, not an old reference sample.
  3. Swatches ship within 3 business days via standard mail.
  4. If you're ordering multiple pieces for one space (e.g., a vanity top and a matching side table), let us know — we'll try to cut from the same block where possible.

A note on veining and "imperfections"

Natural fissures, mineral deposits, and veining shifts are part of genuine marble and travertine. If you're used to the uniform look of engineered stone, a swatch will help you calibrate expectations before your piece arrives.
